Deer season - for firearms - officially begins tomorrow across Nebraska, and hunters are busy with last-minute details . . . including downloading some new apps for when the does aren't enticing any bucks to the area.
So what are the hottest new hunting apps that aren't games?
Check out the Bigfoot Camera Prank. There wasn't much creativity needed for the name because it's just that. Take a photo and add one of the 20 big foot masks. You can change the lighting and transparency to make it look more authentic. Of course, that's if you don't mind messin' with Sasquatch. This is a 99 cent app.
There's also the Under Armour - Do You See Green app. With this one, you take a photo of yourself or a fellow hunter and five quick steps later, you turn your eyes a bright Under Armour green. You finish with the UA logo splashed along side your pic. It's not an app you'd use often, by any means, but for a young hunter, the pic makes you look like a UA model. Best part? It's free. For the serious hunters - or may too serious of hunters - there's the Whitetail Ops - Hunting Maps, GPS, Weather & Auto Journal. This app auto collects everything from every trip, allowing you the power to plan and strategize. It offers aerial and satelite maps, GPS position, barometer, lunar calendar, recon notes, Facebook sharing and more. This app allows you take photos and records all of the environmental data. It packs a powerful punch and will run you $4.99. And lastly, there's the Beard Dynasty Face Cam. OK, so it doesn't have anything to do with hunting, but if you're a hunter, you probably like the beards anyway. This app allows you to record a video and puts a beard on you. But it's up to you to talk like Mountain Man or come up with a crazy Si story. This app turns No Shave November into a possibility for everyone. And you're only out 99 cents. Have a great - and safe - deer season. And Pitzer Digital can't wait to see your trophies!
