![]() The New Year kicked off with a bang thanks to the official launch of a new website designed to promote news that matters most to Antelope County. The site - www.MyAntelopeCountyNews.com - officially went live Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. The Northeast Nebraska website is unique to the area for several reasons, including that it covers all eight communities in Antelope County - Brunswick, Clearwater, Elgin, Neligh, Oakdale, Orchard, Royal and Tilden. Readers can click on a specific community and read news pertaining to those towns, or readers can view the most recent stories via the homepage. This is a hyper-local website at its finest - from publishing news and events to promoting local businesses and retailers. Perhaps the most important aspect of the website is that it's entirely FREE to contribute content to the site. Because the content is free, the website is advertiser supported. Businesses in the communities are advertising their services and products on the site to not only let you know what they offer and their current specials, but also to support community events. Businesses want readers to know what's going on in Antelope County, so thank them by patronizing them and clicking on their ads. If you're interested in advertising, please contact us. After all, most businesses only spend about $1 per day - or less - to market themselves. As for what you'll see on MyAntelopeCountyNews.com- news, open houses, card showers, birthdays, business anniversaries, press releases, school activities, sporting events, etc. are not only free to put on the website, it's encouraged to send those items in for publication. Send in your news and let us promote it for you! The website is managed by Erin Whitesel and Jennifer Higgins, both longtime residents of Antelope County. Erin is a 1996 graduate of Neligh-Oakdale and has lived in Neligh nearly her entire life. Jenny is originally from Randolph but has lived near Neligh for more than a decade. Both have two children attending Neligh-Oakdale and are active volunteers within the community and their church. The site is operated and designed by Pitzer Digital, a website, marketing and consulting company also based in Antelope County. As for the website, all content must be approved by the site managers and cannot include explicit language. Event information must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the event to ensure publication for promotion. News, events and photos can be submitted via the submission page or by emailing [email protected]. Because promotion is what this site is about. Everything published will be posted to the Antelope County News Facebook page and Twitter accounts. Readers are encouraged to like either or both social networking sites for immediate updates on Antelope County news and events - and invite others to like the Facebook and Twitter pages. And share, share, share. We can't reiterate that enough - this site is about promoting news and events in Antelope County, and we encourage readers to share what they're seeing to help spread the word about all of the great activities throughout Northeast Nebraska and beyond. So, please, take a moment to share this story about MyAntelopeCountyNews.com because it's about promoting the news and events that matter most to Antelope County - and to you. That's why it's called MyAntelopeCountyNews.com. Thanks for all of your support! |
